Geometry 101

Another Spring Trend Alert!
Geometric Lines

Math was never my best subject but there was something about Geometry that I really liked.
Maybe it was because of the cool tools that were used & the fact that I could use them to make interesting patterns & designs?! :) This season we are seeing so many fabulous pieces with geometric lines. Color blocking patterns such as wide stripes & geometric design...
pretty much one in the same this season.

Below is another Polyvore set I created with clips from Harper's Bazaar Spring 2012 runway shows as well as fashionable finds from the Polyvore library that won't break the bank.
Visit my Polyvore page for more info here!

Be conscious of the lines worn for your body type. Obviously vertical lines are more flattering than horizontal ones and I'm really keen on the diagonal lines for any body type.
Here are a few looks I pulled together...

I love this dress! The style, the circular pattern, the vertical pleats, the colors that are great for spring & summer. What makes this dress even more appealing? It was crafted completely from organic & recycled materials! By pairing with a pop of beautiful blue, a simple clutch & layered colorful necklaces, this look could be great for day or evening this summer. Get this entire look at www.anthropologie.com.

Aren't these Ellen Tracy tops great!? Perfect for the office, shopping or lunching with friends. They can be easily dressed up or down & easily worn from the office to dinner out! Pair them with a skirt, black pants or as seen here, with jeans. I like the idea of wearing a bright shoe but keeping the bag & other accessories neutral.

I haven't been able to part with this Diane von Furstenberg dress I purchased several years ago... I love the fit - shirt dress with a little bit of flare - totally screams Geometry, don't you think? Glad I kept it for another season!

Try wearing something with an "EDGE" this season!

60's Inspired

Spring Trend Alert
MAD MEN STYLE
Retailers are advertising this 60's style as "Ladylike," "Mod 60's," or even the
"Mad Men Collection." We're seeing sheaths to shirt dresses, short hemlines & lace to clinched waists, skinny belts,  bows & knee length hems. Perhaps Betty Draper was a muse for many designers as they put together looks for their spring 2012 collections.

All dresses can be found on Piperlime & Nordstrom.

For specific information on the styles above, visit me on polyvore here!
In searching my "go to" sites for fabulous fashions & trends, I found that www.shoprouche.com had the most Betty-ish finds with very reasonable price tags.
