I had the amazing opportunity to be a guest on a local TV show, Your Life A to Z this week! I was asked to speak about mommy style. I recruited five girlfriends, all moms, to be my models for the segment. Polyvore helped me in the brainstorming process as I pieced together jeans, tops, jackets, shoes & accessories after "clipping" them from various on-line stores. We all gathered at my home to go over clothing, shoes & accessories... one's I had purchased & items they brought from their own closets. I pieced five looks together for my dear friends, who are all amazing mothers & always on the go.
It all came together beautifully!
The segment focused on moms dressing stylish, without having to "break the bank." My goal in this was to give young moms, fresh ideas for pairing colors, prints & comfortable fashions, without having to spend a lot. On the segment, I mentioned tips on how to cut costs, where & when to go for great deals. I love to tell clients to incorporate transitional pieces they already have in their wardrobe & pair them with fresh, inexpensive finds for the new season. Taking those splurge items such as a great pair of jeans, a designer handbag or shoes/boots & pairing them with layering tops & inexpensive accessories from bargain type stores, making an entirely fresh look for the new season. Let's face it, most of us cannot afford to shop at the high-high end retail stores & boutiques for our day to day mommy clothes and I'm assuming many of us probably shouldn't anyway considering the spit up, vomit, dirty shoes, noses & fingers that touch us throughout the day. This is not to say we shouldn't EVER splurge (believe me, I love to when I can), just be more aware of where you spend your money & which items can be utilized to the fullest in your closet. Those splurge items will last longer & the bargain finds that may not be as quality can at least give a little umph to your seasonal wardrobe. I am notorious for pairing a pricey jean & shoe with an inexpensive top & accessories. Actually, this winter I've lived in my $20 jean leggings from Target by pairing them with nice boots, wedges, heels & flats as well as fun layering tops, sweaters & jackets, only some of which were splurge items.

A special thanks to Your Life A to Z host, Suzanne Vanderhoff, for her interest in having me on the show to talk about mommy style. It was such a FUN experience for all of us moms & for me, it really validated why I started my business. This lover of fashion just wants everyone to feel good about themselves in what they wear & it shouldn't have to cost a fortune to do so!
Fashionably Yours,
Angela
