KIDS SUMMER FASHION
3TV Your Life A to Z Fashion Segment
Comfort :: Layering for air conditioning & cooler climates :: Unique Looks :: Supporting Local Boutiques & Etsy shops
I had the wonderful opportunity of going back to Channel 3's Your Life A to Z for another fashion segment. This time, the segment was all about kids fashion for summer. I wanted to show layering for those freezing air conditioned buildings or travel to cooler climates as well as feature amazing fashion finds from local boutiques. I love supporting local designers & small business owners. In styling adults, children & families for professional photo sessions, I like to put looks together from several stores. Of course, it's easier to walk into a store, look at the mannequin & say, "I'll take that whole look!" But, sometimes it's fun to play with fashion & pair clothing from different stores, for a more unique look. Try pairing unexpected patterns & colors & layer clothing. Have FUN with fashion! Are you afraid or not sure how to play with fashion? Don't have the time?
That's where my services come in handy!
Here are my STYLISH models from the segment that aired Tuesday!

LOOK 1 & 2
Miss A: Tops: Peek... Aren't You Curious?, Skirt: Peek... Aren't You Curious?, Jean Jacket: Target, Sandals: Target, Bracelets: Dillards, Headband: Moonbeams
Mr. M: Graphic Tee: Peek... Aren't You Curious?, Polo: Target, Shorts: Target, Button Down: Target, Shoes: Converse @ Zappos.com, Hat: Knuckleheads @ Urban Kidz
For Miss A, I layered the tops by using the pop of pink tank under the tee and paired the outfit with sandals, with more pink pop, wooden bangles & a jean jacket. A jean jacket is a great staple to have in any girl's closet as it can really be worn all year long. To finish the look I had Abby wear a beaded sunflower headband to bring in more golden yellow of the fun boho skirt. I think this color palette totally compliment her gorgeous brown hair & big brown eyes!
I put Max in one of the Olympic inspired tee's from Peek. It's such a fun line as they have numerous countries represented with cute graphics on the front & back of the tee's. I LOVE the green & blue combo... it's cool & cheery (plus they bring out Max's to die for blue eyes!) Max is in the Australia swim tee and I paired it with an aqua polo & aqua shorts, a lightweight gingham button down, some aviator sunglasses & a fedora hat. He also wore white converse, my favorite on little guys! This look is easy for summer & the layering gives you lots of options for changing the look a bit. Take the tee off & he has an aqua monochromatic look that's so on trend this season!

LOOKS 3 & 4
Dress: H&M, Shirt: Gap, Jelly Belt & Shoes: Gap
Dress: B. Belle Couture @ Moonbeams, Sandals: Target, Jean Jacket: Gap, Dragonfly Hair Clip: Frances
The pink jumper on little G is perfect for summer. I layered a long sleeve mint (OBSESSED with this color!) shirt but could also see a patterned tank under it as well. I left it unbuttoned to show off the glitz of sequins. I added a jelly belt & sandals that coordinate perfectly! Below you'll see this ensemble could also be paired with cute sunnies & a scarf for hair or to tie around a little handbag.
Miss Maddy is camera ready in her Tory Dress by B.Belle Couture, sold at Moonbeams and several other boutiques around the valley, as well as on Etsy. Can I get this in my size?! Seriously, the quality of this dress is stellar... the fabric & craftsmanship is top notch! The shop owner, Alexis is so sweet and great to work with. You'll have to check out her other goodies here, on Etsy. I paired the aqua dress with metallic shoes & a white jean jacket. Both are fabulous staples for summer as coordinate with pretty much anything! I added a little dragonfly bobby pin in her darling flipped hair & she's ready for a party, beach photos, or a lunch date with dad!
Cardigan: Fore!! Axel & Hudson @ Little Boy Chic, Plaid Shirt: One90One @Urban Kidz, Tee: J Crew, Shorts: JCrew, Hat: JCrew
Here I featured one of my absolute FAVORITE boys lines of clothing, Fore!! Axel & Hudson. It's a golf inspired line sold in boutiques and online. Moonbeams at Gainey Village Shops carries some of their clothing & hats. From the polos, to the cardigans, shorts to the fedoras, it's all so unique and very quality. Often times you'll see children of stars wearing this line! Really though, the price point is right in line with JCrew's crewcuts, Janie & Jack & the like. I also have to plug a wonderful boutique, Urban Kidz! Shop owner, Lila, is awesome! She has a variety of girls & boys clothing & accessories in her shop, also at Gainey Village Shops. I've always adored their swim gear for boys as well as their selection of hats. You'll have to pop in soon to see what she has on the racks for summer.
I styled Carter in a simple white tee & khaki cargo's from JCrew (more great summer staples). This way we could have fun with pattern & layering! He's wearing a "One 90 One" button down as well as a Fore!! Axel & Hudson cardigan. Do you like the 4th of July color theme here?! This look would also be rockin' with the tee & sweater or loose the cardigan if the weather's too warm. Pair the tops with linen pants & button the shirt & sweater to kick it up a notch.
Also, a fabulous ensemble for summer beach photos!
